Zab Maboungou|Compagnie Danse Nyata Nyata and Éditions du CIDIHCA announce the publication of Heya Danse! Poetics, didactics and history of African dance, a moving book on the foundations of African dance, by Zab Maboungou.

Zab Maboungou presents African dance in all its forms.   The reader will discover a whole art of movement of a humanity in perpetual redefinition of itself.

“Africa, continent of ancestors, has become the continent of return. This is what this art of dance seems to be showing us. This art coming out of Africa, which nowadays has an outreach almost everywhere in the world. African dance is thus glorious and ancient but also undeniably marked by the seal of modernity. Taken out of its traditional ethnic context by the very fact of being “staged” and “taught”, African dance has become a part of the modern field of interethnic confrontation."
