MOVER(S)/ZUNGANA

Where to go, how to go, and not lose your breath. MOVER(S)/ZUNGANA unfolds in both calm and tumult, like the paths we are unwillingly obliged to take. The protagonists in MOVER(S) probe and haunt the space which they create, embracing their destiny between the trenches of violence and hope.

In this new work, the choreographer, Zab Maboungou, is the orchestrator of a dramaturgy made of gestures and tones, movements and sound, giving rise to a fresco, with the allure of a manifesto that is fully embodied by the dancers and musicians.

« Chaque personne sur scène porte le sens de l'œuvre, se déplace avec compréhension et ancrage. »

« Par leur présence forte et intense, les danseurs·euse·s et musiciens nous amènent à côtoyer cet élan vital, sa joie, et la mort qui l’accompagne dans son cycle. »

« [...] cette création est poignante, nécessaire, et attentive à l’actualité. »

- Caro Morcos, Biennale Off Parcours Danse 2025

"A calmed warning of urgency and the need for impact courses in my veins

Voices, A percussive harmonious roar

Piano, A sonar call into the future

Drums, A collective heartbeat

throughout the room.

Interlace their hands and guide each other forwards in time."

"It is a display of the complexity of resilient bodies moving through and harmonizing with the chaos of noise in our world."

- Danielle Mackenzie Long, Living Room Responder. VIDF 2026.
