Kazo
Soudin, musician
Alex Soudin is
his given name, but it is under the name “Kazo” that he has brought his
unique charm to the art of drumming. A percussionist from Martinique
with over thirty years of experience, Kazo knows how to communicate his
passion for not only Caribbean, but also Latin, Cuban and African
rhythms. After achieving success in Martinique, Kazo immigrated to
Quebec twelve years ago. He has played in numerous festivals including,
Francofolies, The Montreal Jazz Festival, Nuits d’Afrique, The Ottawa
Jazz Festival and Vues d’Afrique. Kazo has recorded over twenty albums
with numerous groups. He has toured in Canada, the Caribbean, in South
America, in Europe and in Africa. Kazo also gives private courses and
drumming classes for all ages.
