PROFESSIONAL AND ARTISTIC TRAINING PROGRAM IN AFRICAN DANCE

The Professional and Artistic Training Program in African Dance targets performing arts professionals and semi-professionals who intend to orient their careers towards teaching or performance.

This is a two-year program comprising theoretical and practical training in African dance and music (drumming and percussions).

Regular classes and intensive workshops will be given by professionals affiliated with the Compagnie Danse Nyata Nyata as well as by invited guest instructors, on occasion.

This program is supported by Heritage Canada and aims to develop the art of African dance, as well as related art forms, at the professional level.

The art of African dance and music has permeated all aspects of contemporary artistic expression, from Jazz to Hip Hop. Not merely alternative, this program provides a unique opportunity to learn some of the principles along with the specific techniques that have contributed to the multi-disciplinary cultural development of contemporary dance and music.
